Fished the Columbia the past three days:

- Kalama area two days ago, no fish, no runs, no errors. Nobody (well, two boats)fishing when we got there in the afternoon. Fished the low tide change, incoming tide.

- Camas area, above I-205. Yesterday, saw three fish for about 8 boats. Nothing in our boat. Today, 5 fish for about 12 boats. One in ours, too many fins, though about 24 Lbs! Of the five fish, four were natives. One sea lion.

Stopped by the Kalama ramp on the way home at 4:00pm. The fish checker gal said she had checked 4 keeper fish for about a gazallion boats.

Very crowded conditions at both Camas and Kalama ramps.

Seacat was along in the boat today, with his brother-in-law. Despite all rumors to the contrary, he can in fact tie his own knots, quite competently, though it does take him a little bit of time. We had a pretty darn good time, laying a layer of smack talk down that was at least five feet feet thick above river level. Rumors that the teams' bodily emissions exceeded the Camas paper mills' in toxicity are yet to substantiated. Reports on Kielbasa composition are being requested by several state agencies.

Other than that, it was a beautiful weekend on the river.

Fished outa Cathlamet Friday and today. Friday I hood three and landed one - had an adipose fin of course so back he went. My bud got skunked. Today we only had one bite, but my pard managed to make the most of it, landing a 30 pounder with an adipose clip eek Biggest springer I've ever had in the boat laugh Overall I'd say it was kind of slow friday and real slow today, but it's early, and hey, I can't complain cool

Thanks for the ride Silver. Me and Kelley had a great time shootin' the breeze. That big native slab was worth the trip, even if I didn't win the 4 bucks! What a beauty!! Bring a camera next time will 'ya? laugh

Visited a german restaurant in Portland for dinner that night, that's right, more keilbasa and beer!

Maybe I should stop off and grab a dog at the Safe on the way home today, he he. wink

Fished out of kalama sunday (31st). 1 strike and we got it.....15lb. fin-clipped. Yes!! But overall it was real slow. Saw 2 others caught for the couple of boats that were around us. Tide was ripping as it was a 9 ft. tide. I think this kind of messed up the ability of the plugs to run efficiently-just my opinion. We got our fish just as the tide started running and had that perfect quickfish speed.
