I am actually posting this for a buddy of mine. He is going to by a new sled, and he is looking at the alumaweld stryker in a 17 footer. I am just wonder if this is a good boat or is there something better for about the same money? I know that money is an issue that is why he is looking at this boat. Thank yo in advance for any info.

I bought a 19' stryker sport jet and I'm totaly pleased with it. There are a lot of choices out there but for the money and the extra features and the construction I think I got a good deal. Look at Three Rivers Marine in Woodinville, in addition to Verles. I ended up buying at three Rivers from Bryan Nelson. Happy with the boat and with the dealer. Their phone number is 425-415-1575.

Forgot to mention (this morning) that the trailer that Three Rivers includes in the package is outstanding in comparison to any I've seen. And it is the one in the Alumaweld sales brochures. The fenders are strong and you can stand on them. Even the tail light bracket is that stout. It is a quality well made product. The brand is Rogue. I think Verle's uses easy loader which may be ok for you but it is not nearly as tough as the Rogue.
I got my boat around the first of May, and like I said I'm happy with it. Good luck.

One of the best boats for the money. One step up is the super vee light.

Buck, I have seen two SuperVee Light hulls for sale here in the Portland area. The hull has a 6 degree deadrise. If I remember correctly the Stryker has a 10 degree. If your friend really wants a sled and use it as such, the pump will work better on the shallower deadrise. This hull requires a lot less power to get on plane and will run in shallower water. Just a thought!
