Thought I would share how I store my drift rigs in my vest. first cut small blocks of wood,4" long 1" wide. tie your drift rigs up ,wider blocks need to be used if you use long leaders, wrap the rig around the block hook flat on the wood ,take a ruber band wrap that around the line and the hook the hook sould be wraped under the line.the next rig will be wraped with the hook slightly over laping the last continue untill the block is filled up depending how large the hooks are you should be able to keep 10 or so rigs on one block. when you fish take the rig off first you put on last.(snap!!!) if you did it right they will unravel right off .fits right in your vest i slide a small plastic cup in a vest pocket so the hooks dont snag (optional but a good Idea).I tie up 20 or so on a bunch of blocks with corkies and some times yarn too, just dont put those on the same side as the hooks. cheap, easy, fits in your vest and very fast. PS.save your rubber bands and reuse them . dont leave them on the bank thanks in advance.

That's an idea. I tried the 1/2" pipe insulation but it was bulky, and the leaders would unravel in my vest pocket during the day. And then it was just a mess. I am currently using Pips leader reels. So far I like them. I get a good laugh at the guys who have to run to the bank and retie leaders each time they break off. Must not have been boy scouts. :p

I have used the pips leader boxes( their round ) for years. They work great tie your leaders lift off top of box put hook into cork and twist the box till leader dissapears. When you need one just lift top of box off grab hook and pull.

Hey I have two Pips reels as well, but cant find any more in the area. Anyone know where to buy them in the seattle area? My buddies all want some too.

"You'll find it at Fred Meyer" jingle jingle Sorry couldn't resist . Have you tried this, tie some leaders orient them all the same way now take aluminum foil and roll up the first 12-16" to do this just roll side ways a little and expose the hooks. Now very carefully take this and cram the ends in your vest the other end goes through your D-ring on your vest atach it with rubberband or tie -wrap you don't even have to open a pocket. One caution when taking off your vest watch those hooks. Sometimes I keep my snap swivels like this and a paperclip like a keychain get it. This I admit needs some work one time at band camp... laugh
