For Christmas I was planing on getting another rod. I have 4 Lamiglass and 1 Loomis. I saw some Rogue Rods at last years Puyallup Sportsman show and thought if they have them this year I would get one. Is there anyone out there who owns one, if so how do you like it.

I bought a Rogue Rod last summer for the summer stellies. Dam it has turned out to be a nice rod! I also own lamiglas's and a loomis and I have fished with plenty of Rainshadow Becuase thats all my cuasin is into.My Rogue is equivellant to the IMX loomis but about half the price. You will also find a big price reduction in the Rainshadow But it is a matter of opinion of wich one you would like better. You should really try if possible to fish with both before you make up your mind. If you do decide you like the Rogue I have the number of the guy who custom wrapped my Rogue, and he is very good.

I love my rogue, it definitely put the hurt to many dogs yesterday as well as plenty (never enough though) of silvers, kings and steelhead throughout the last year and a half. I've never had to send one back for repair so I can't comment on the warranty but this is one sweet rod.

You can contact Rainshadow at www.rainshadowfishing.com and find out where to get the rods and blanks.

I've never fished a Rogue, but I've talked to people who have. The rod was described a nice, but one of them had warentee issues and came away dissatified.

Take Fish4Steels advice and look at getting a custom built Rainshadow from TH. I love mine and highly recogmend them.

Or look at the Allstars, Sportco is carrying them up here in Tacoma.

beathead I had a Rogue rod that broke twice on chums. Both times it broke on the first fish I hooked. They were good about relpacing it, but I sure don't like having to wait for a replacment. When it broke the second time I asked for and got my money back.

Buy a Lamiglas and you will have a dependable rod built locally by experts.

looking through past posts and saw the Rogue Rod deal. I live in S. Oregon about 10 minutes from the plant and know a few guys there. Heres the scoop.
They make only top end rods and are now worldwide from flats to deep blue. I use them on salmon and steelhead. Many blanks designed by Greg? Loomis. (Not Gary of G. Loomis fame, but his brother who worked there and designed alot of the Loomis rods. Its no accident that they go head to head with the IMX and usually win. That was the intention. They had one weak rod ( the SM866 med-hvy for 10-20 line. It broke at about 13 pounds of applied force. It was redesigned and re-released in September. Warranty issues here resulted in people snagging springers and horsing them in from the bank with line well beyond rod rating. I saw one guy break 4 rods in 4 days( each replaced the same day by walking into the plant. Finally they said enough and wouldn't warranty the rod again. No rod can hold up to intentional neglect and abuse. For side drifting the SS904 S-2 (9 foot 6-10 line out performs the IMX. Its a fast action 8 weight flyrod blank built into a spinning rod. The SH 864 is a terrific bank rod with a faster action (6-12 line), or the SH 865 med for 8-15 line. For salmon the one piece SM827 is unequaled 8'2" 10-25 line. For 2 piece salmon rods I'd probably look at the redesigned med hvy SM866 for 10-20 line. Make sure its the new one though or you will break it with pressure. If you want a hvy action 10-25 line in a 2 piece I'd look atLoomis or Lamiglas as the consenses here is they fish too heavy. Virtually all the top guides here have switched to Rogue Rods over Lamiglas.(But we're in their back yard so we are a little spoiled. In short these rods are IMX quality or better but more durable (tighter wrapping process on the graphite) and less money.

Family feuds got to love them! hope one of them gets real ticked, and drops his prices, oh, maybe 20-30% that would be a real bummer.

I own a Rogue Rod. Oh it was one nice rod till two days after I got it and I was fighting in my first fish on it and it broke 4th eye from the top.
My old man has a lite winter steelhead bobber rod, broke on him on the cast.
A good fishing buddy had one, broke on him casting.
All these rods were right out of the story.

Lamiglas all the way!!
