Anyone who has been fishing silvers on the Sky will appreciate this.

Why do fish jump?

Because they don't have middle fingers.

For what i have read about this "they" say it is a prelude to spawning. By jumping and landing on their sides they are loosening their eggs up. I thought, maybe, but it makes sence. You never see whole skiens in the river, right? But i doubt a whole skein would come out all at once if they didn't loosen them up....ouch..

I have heard if they are jumping in the tide water they are trying to get the sea lice off. Sea lice don't like fresh water, I guess. what

I have heard that they jump when they get hooked because they get so excited they are really try to swim down, but with the PAIN(fishing hurts you PETA Phucks!) and confusion they go the wrong way! :p

They jump to show you that there really are fish in that hole, even though they arent biting.

They are saying " we are here, but you might as well not be!"
