Was wondering if anyone owned one and how they like the rod, i am considering purchasing the TBC 92 MJ, which is 9'2" and rated at 6-15, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Primary focus of this rod is going to be driftfishing for silvers/steelhead. thanks
Matt

Matt,

I sent you some mail. From what I have heard, but with no first hand exp. is that they are very sensitive, BUT they has been a problem with them breaking where the graphite joins the Ti. This comes from a tackle rep and a sporting goods store. So take it for what it is worth. They sound nice and the rod you picked out should do great.

Matthew

Love both of my Titaniums. Definitely light and sensitive. For the money, you can get some pretty nice Loomises, though.

When I toured the Lamiglas facotry, I did see a few returns that were broken at the Ti-Graphite joint, but I think they were the bass lenghts. My TBC86H salmon rod has caught lots of springers here and chinooks in Alaska without problems. And the TBC86ML steelhead rod does fine with steelies and cohos. The only complaint I have is the guides of made of thin metal and bend easily.

Titaniums have already been discussed either here or at iFish.net. You may want to search the archives.

The Titanium Lami is a great rod, extra light and very sensitive. On the flip side they still need to work out the breaking problem at the Titanium where it meets the graphite. I own the 9'2'' and love it, broke the first one setting the hook on a fish, it broke at the Titanium and the tip section about 3 guides down from the tip top. Lami sent me a brand new one within a couple of weeks and it's still in one piece.

Well i broke down and purchased the lami, unbelievable rod, Ultra Sensitive does not even begin to describe this rod. i used it at one of my favorite holes and hooked a ton of fish (FISH4STEEL can attest to that). I don't even know if i would fish anything else, this rod has definitely spoiled me. What suprised me is that it did have the backbone that i was looking for. Thanks for all your input
