I recieved the MSN 8 cd in the mail yesterday and was dumb enough to load it.

It sucks...it totally disables my ability to use Outlook Express plus to keep from getting kicked off on a regular basis, I have to close the MSN 8 program via ctrl+alt+delete.

Anyways...can I manually disable MSN 8 and just run a dial-up. I tried just connecting using the dial-up manager within My Computer but I couldnt connect.

I just want to be able to use OE more then anything...and I can not find any older versions of MSN laying around my house.

BTW-I am running Windows 98.

Thanks!

Goto tools and click internet options.
Then click on the program tab and change it back to Outlook.
I have MSN but I am on DSl so I do not have the problem of connecting to the Web using any other programs.
Why not just remove MSN browser and use the IE or Netscape.

I will try the above advice but I did try the latter...when I removed the MSN browser, they wouldn't accept my sign-in username or password.

Goto your computer. click on make a new connection (Not sure how win 98 is set up compare to Xp, its been a while)

Make a new connection , fill in name (maybe as MSN 1 or what ever) then fill in dial up number and password and user id.
Click finish.
Now remove connection that your Msn has been dialing with and use the new connection.
(Actually once the old one is removed the new connection will be your new default)

Now click on your IE or Netscape and the new connection will pop up aksing for password (if you don't want your computer remember it) and that should do it.
