If I could fulfill my wish list it would be as follows:

3 HSR941C For plugging all mounted with Abu 5501C3, these will work for both Steelhead and Salmon

1084C for summer Steelhead mounted with a Curado

1025C for winter Steelhead and Salmon mounted with a Curado

1141S for boondoggling and playing with the Humpies

1264C For a float rod, also mounted with a Curado

1143S For people who cannot cast, mounted with a Diawa Regal Z

Whatever you get make sure the drifters are top quality, everything else does not matter quite as much.

Oh and don't forget the snoop rod laugh

Forgot the HSR982 or HSR1023 for trolling spinners and running Kwickfish!

Yup your right forgot the Kwiki rods, I got some old Fenwick FS85's that I use for Kwikies. Never really use spinners but if it requires a new rod I am game laugh

Although those HSR/MBR941c's will handle a kwiki just fine.

Being the cheap ******* that I am, I have been switching over to a lot of Browning rods. I have a 8 1/2', 8 to 12 for drifting. I also have a 10 to 17 that I use mostly for Plugs. The first fish on that one was a 21 1/4 pound chrome hog on the Quinalt last March. The last was a beauty native caught by my buddies 11 year old daughter on the Sol Duc Monday the 30th of December. I also have a 9', 6 to 10 that sees action as a jig rod.

Brownings run about $65.00 at Outdoor Emporium.

Most of my reels are Ambassador 5600 C3 with a 6500 on the plug rod (love the clicker!)

We have a bunch of other stuff that always goes along for the ride, too. I recently "inherited" (from Bill Davis) a Loomis Plug Rod. Still a virgin. We have been fishing that side of the boat with a 10 1/2 foot rod with a knucklebuster. I am really looking to get into a hot fish with that setup!

You don't have to spend a sithpot of money to get set up.

That and $2.75 will get you a beer almost anywhere!

This is true most guys have way more crap then they need. In the case of my wish list it is to make the day easier. I hate retying from hole to hole. Want a rod for every occasion in the boat ready to fish. Ya know sort of like those guys on bass masters. laugh

Yeah, I hear ya lead thrower. I usually carry 2 or 3 drift rods, generally 8 to 12 #, One with eggs, One with pink, pink and pink , and the third is usually busted off :p Then there is the plug rod, and the jig rod. I actually have been bringing an extra plug rod for the cracker up front. He is letting me use his knucklebuster. We look like a damn porcupine by the time we get all that stuff in the boat.

We don't carry so much stuff for Salmon. I usally bring the 12 - 25 Lamiglass. I really like trolling with the Knucklebuster for Springers!

Hands down for everyday abuse and use the berkely IM7 rods will work for anything. I have my share of expensive rods but my boats and bank fishing hours see alot of IM7 use. They make them in spinning and drift rods and I like them for salmon and steelhead fishing. Buck for buck it is the only rod to own for less than a hundred bucks a shot!!!!
