Anybody hear about a 20-foot sled that tried to launch over the weeknd at Wilsons on the Bogachiel, and ended up fishing the Quillayute?

Just because someone's stupid doen't mean that they should have property damaged or stolen.

Hey kevin
You might be a little more careful of what you are saying. (does he still have a trailer) I wouldn't recommend touching anyone's stuff. Not a good idea, especially when someone with the thought process of me see's you doing it. Every action there's an opposite and equal reaction. Think before you act.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Are you guys serious? I didn't see Kevin recommend vandalizing anyone's stuff. He simply stated what's likely to happen if you go dropping a sled in the rivers around Forks.

Of course, if you want to cart your sled up there as a matter of principle, feel free. When you get back to the launch site, you'll likely see what Kevin was talking about.

Dan S. is right and I've witnesses the aftermath of a few sled trailers out there. I'm not condoning it, it just happens. It's not a pretty site.

I agree with glowball 100%!!!!!!!!!
And drift boats come on trailers too. ( wouldnt want them damaged)
I think the key here is respect for others property.

If that's the case then maybe I'll do a little experiment. Send my buddy down the river fishing in the sled and I'll wait in the bushes. Never know what I'll have clutched in my hands though.

What ever brah....... Did I ever say that I would damage anyone else property .....hmmmm No .. Just know that people around there and what has happened in the past. Better read the post again before you end up jumping down someones neck. But hey you go ahead and launch your sled and then come back and let us what ended up happening, tell ya what its not going to be a good thing. Not that I give a flying criap. Gotta love how happy everyone gets when they are not getting fishies. Have a happy day and hope you catch some so you mellow alittle.

Tight lines

Kevin

p.s. thanks Dan S. and Kev to see what was really being said.

"lighten up Francis"

Does he still have a trailer laugh

The comments intent was harmless-see the little laugh -joking as we did when Bob started the BB. Too many take things to the extreme. ya ya "hey that gives people ideas"-the idiots that vandilize peoples property like that cant even read let alone "log on" and they do deserve what they got comin.

Maybe Kev meant that the rivers are coming up so much that all the launches are flooded. Or the tide came up --right Kev

However, I do suggest sledding the Calawah

I'll qualify this by saying I do not live in Forks, if I did I might think differently....

I think sleds are acceptable in the Quillayute and acceptable in the tidal stretches of the Hoh below the lowest boat launch. I know a guide who occasionally takes his sled down there, I'm pretty sure he knows he's not my favorite guy in the world but I certainly wouldn't slash his tires or any such thing. There are a few guys on the Quill that have backyard launches who I see from time to time...

I'll bet Bob can actually empathize with Kevin's comment having had his tires slashed in the past...

Seemed more like a warning than a threat to me.

I know a guy who has fished the rivers in the Forks area out of his sled several times and has never had a problem. I hope I never find someone messing with my trailer though, guaranteed to cost them their life and I will probably spend some time in the "big house".

Oh boy! I'm laughing at the mistaken seriousness of a funny, funny response to an inquisitive question.

Methinks there are those taking things far to serious. Lighten up!

The response to me simply says, sleds are not well received......where's the surprise in that?

I was just talkin to a friend from mississippi about the backwoods folk down there, I would hope the folks around Forks would have a family tree with longer roots eek Why do they think they own those rivers, but when we talk about our local river we're RedNecks? I need to go and watch Deliverance again. laugh

No wonder there's so many freakin sleds on the Puget Sound rivers rolleyes Atleast the locals down there stand up for their rivers. Stil takes a small man to slash a tire though mad

We dont need another sled/bankie flame, im just a little bitter when it comes to sleds. Tired of being corked and white washed, its all good though, right?? thumbs

I remember a time in Forks when a certain biker group came to town. When they parked their hawgs, the locals introduced them to Mr. Stihl. (I used to work with the Sheriffs dept over there.) That was a true "southern call " Ya'll come, and everybody came. I used to work for the forest service out at Snyder Work Center. You did not want to go to Forks unless you had caulk boots, and a hard hat. Forks is a unique place with some great people, just watch how you act in Rome when visiting there. thumbs

I understand the whole no sled thing on the peninsula and agree with it. But I don't agree with someone damaging other fishermans property. Regardless of the reason.

Kevin
i apologize about jumping down your neck. I took your comment the wrong way. I just have no patience for vandals.

Just don't put a sled in a Forks-area river and the whole discussion is moot wink

Still tell the story of the one I saw cut into 50+ pieces every day to all my new folks!
