We havn't seen a fish caught in our last 4 trips to Defiance/Dalco. I think the pile driving their doing over by the ferry dock at Dalco has alot to do with it. We were at Dalco yesterday and the water was quite murky with little visibility. We could here and feel the banging in the bottom of our aluminum boat even when we went back over to Clay Banks.

You think this is causing a slow down with the fishing down there?

HBP, good question. I was thinking that might also be causing a problem for fishing in elliot bay. I have noticed that prior to the pile driving we were on fish. As soon as it started the action slowed and it was all shakers?? what

Pile driving might have something to do with the slow fishing. However, the day Easy and myself fished Elliot Bay, we caught fish all day long. Go figure..

I didn't tell you this.. go fish up into the mouth of Quartermaster Harbor... I would almost bet The Salmonator (my boat) there are herring schooling for the spawn.... They will be there for the next few months (April) sssshhhhhh!
Don't tell a soul. Promise?

Ya, I don't think the pile driving effects the fishing.

Where you guys fishing the normal spots over by todds? If so your a good 1.5-2 miles from where there located. I'm not sure about where they are located at dalco but we were right on top of them and did notice a big difference in the larger fish. The shakers well they will hit anything, anytime. How many keepers did you guys get for the day?

FS75,

I don't know if your questions was directed to Easy and I, but that day we release at least 6 nice keepers.

Yes it was in responce to easy's last statment. I'm tring to figure out the whys. If you were more over towards todds and away from where the drivers were and caught fish then that might be a why. We were right on top of them and hit two keepers in an hour and as soon as the drivers started it was a shaker show only? If the drivers are right at or close to the shore line at dalco and HBP is skunked 4 times in a row with the drivers going it might be the start of a pattern. I have only fished with the drivers going the last trip and would like to know if I'm wasting my time in a good spot that turns bad with the noise and vibration. Do they move further in / out of the bay? I looked at tides and lunar for the day and could not make sence of the time as to when the action quit. The reason I'm questioning this releates back to a thread about ringing the dinner bell. With the noise and vibration.Always tring to learn rolleyes
Sounds like you guys have a good day beer

Hard to say FS75. I have only fished E. Bay six times this year with the pounding going on. I have had really good days and really bad days in E. Bay.
