grandpa, I too have had to deal with EZ Steer before, only for me it was a self induced problem. I called up the company and talked to a really nice lady that had a good laugh at what I had done. She proceded to get my info and sent the part I needed to Sportco where I picked it up and reinstalled the set up. Like you I cannot say enough about the service I got from them.

Grandpa:
Glad to hear you had a good experience with the company it would of made the originator of the product proud. Back in 85 I was the first and only employee of the company at age 16, I guess I should of stayed at the position with the product's popularity now.

I guess I'll jump on the EZ-Steer bandwagon too. I took my EZ-Steer off my old boat and installed on my new boat. Different size boat, different size motors and spaced apart differently. A couple years later, out on the water after launching in Everett, I break the bracket on one of the motors.
I finish fishing and plan to go out again the next day but I have no EZ-Steer. Without a phone call or appointment I stop by the EZ-Steer shop with the boat on my way home. When they looked at my boat they said this model wasn't designed for your setup. I said yeah I know I took it off my old boat but I need a new motor bracket. They said let's get you set up right. Since I hadn't come prepared to buy a whole new setup, I asked how much this would cost. He asked how much do you have? I looked in my wallet and said I have 17 bucks. The guy said I can't take all your money so how about $15? I said "what a deal, OK".
Now I know they can't do this for every bum like me with a sob story but it certainly shows their fantastic level of customer service. I hope they get a chance to see this and accept my thanks again.

WOW!!! EZ-steer sounds like a step above even the Les Schwab employees who come running to you before you are stopped in their parking lot!
Nice to hear of excellent customer service. It will definitely bring more business. Now, if only more gas stations were today as they were in the fifties!

I also have to give credit where credit is due. The company where I bought my boat installed the unit improperly but, within 24hrs EZ Steer had sent someone to Tacoma to replace the unit as well as teach them how to install it properly! I look at the product and think a rheusses monkey could install it right.

Sounds like EZ steer has figured it out. Customer service is not a difficult concept. I have made a mental note. Their product has worked perfectly for me in the past.
