We fished between Magnolia and 4 Mile Rock today. My cousin and I turned loose 12 shakers. Some were really fat and hard fighting. Despite the pouring rain we had a ball. thumbs

Nope, haven't tried plugs. I usually stick with Hot Spot and hoochie or spoons.

Sorry we missed you Carl, we went to Pt. Defiance on Saturday. We didn't get out until about noon or so, cruised around all afternoon with no bite at all until the rains came and we got slammed on two lines right in front of the zoo. One let go, but landed the other one. About 25 inches, almost 6lbs. It was really different, on Elliott Bay we are constantly reeling in shakers or flounder. Much more action, even the shakers can be fiesty and put up a little fight, but you do get tired reeling in downriggers all day. I finally got the electric rigger put together which helped, but still we had fun. I like E.Bay much better, much more fun!

Hope to see you out again sometime. beer

Me too! E. Bay has a lot of action.

I fished out at West Pt. Sunday again. Pretty rough water and lots of rain. I only hooked two shakers.

Hit 4 mile yesterday. Buddy hit a 5lb and two shakers. I had 5 shakers, one at 21 3/4 and a Silver, 15". Saw FishSalyer out there. He did pretty well. Hey Easy, did you launch at Alki? What's your boat look like. Like to meet up with you out there next time. If you ever see me out there stop by and say hi. I'm in a 19.5 blue and white Bayliner, open bow, with two Cannon E DR's. You won't see a kicker in the back. I run a poor man kicker, trolling plate.

Fish on,

ErnDog

Ya, I usually launch at Alki. My boat is a 14', tan w/ red stripes. I have Easy Limits (some letters are falling off) on the side of the boat. I saw Fishslayer and Kingfisherman yesterday.

Ya, that was me. I went back to the inner bay, by the launch, to seek shelter from the wind and waves. I fished over by the launch for a while then ran back over to Magnolia and 4 Mile. Picked up my only two fish right off the marina in 70' of water. One of my shakers was a coho.

Erndog, what king of trolling plate do you have? I have been meaning to get one before Sockeyes hit LK Washington again, if they open it up. I have been using an even poorer man's kicker, turning the idle down to about 400rpm's or so!

Hey there Steve, Boy do I remember those days, last year. I put mine on right before Sockeye and went home both days with limits. It was pretyy funny because I was trolling slower than some guys with kickers and just seeing there face when I hooked a Red right next to them. The plate is a Happy Troller. I was lucky to have it givin to me. I've seen them around and they are around $100 and down. Very pleased with it. I had a hard plastic one I bought from Cabela's and that went right back for credit. I'm still looking to buy a kicker, but in the mean time it works well. As long as I'm catching fish I know it works.

Fish On,

ErnDog

Ha Easy
Was nice to finally meet up and say hi Sunday we did 8 shakers lost two that popped the douwnrigger clip and came home with are two fish both were right at 24-25 inches. We had all are fish up just north of the rock.we were running right on the bottom with nothing, then we moved out to 100-110 ft and still down that 90ft, fish seemed to be slightly off the bottom. Yes it was alittle sloppy up towards the point. It seemed to be dropping off about the time we left.
O and Hi to fishslayer and his crew and Erndog and his partner I was in the Blue and White Fiberform that ran out behind you. If I would of known you were at the dock when I was Erndog I would of walked over and said hi. Stop by this Sunday if your out for the derby. We will also be on 68 Vhf and ? CB someone will have to call that channel at the dock.

Erndog, the happy troller is the one I am looking at. I was thinking of the one in Cabella's that is spring loaded, or automatic. I kinda' thought about like you did probably, how long can a plastic one last?

Happy troller it is! Running the motor that low sure loads the plugs after awhile, but I can get pretty slow. Trolling plate will be on order in a month or two-thanks for the info!!

Steve, any time. You'll diffently get your money worth. You're correct with the plugs loading up. Already had to replace them right after the Reds. Yet to have them load up again. I bought better plugs.

Fish On,

ErnDog

I use the really poor man's kicker - a 5 gallon bucket hung off the back rolleyes With this I can troll my 25 Yami down to less than 1 mph, and it really works for sockeye, also springers on the Columbia. 'Course in my little boat if I really want to troll slow, like in a tailwind, I just use oars.
