Jerry:

Well as you know Bobber Down went to the Vedder over the weekend and hoped for bobber down from a fat steelhead, but it just didn't happen thus my silence.

My effort was half-a$$ed, 2 hours in the eve. on Sunday, 4.5 hours on Monday (this is what happens when your girlfriend comes along to and yes the malls were stripped and the finger nails were buffed, while I fished). Fished the crossing and few other spots above and talked to many anglers with no stories of fish. I'm sure that I just missed them as always. It was the typical "you should of been here saturday!". beathead

Found an excellent steak to drown my sorrows with, XO Steakhouse, 2nd best filet mignon(only to the Met in Sea) I've ever had for 20 something Canadian, can't beat that! Take the main Chilliwack exit, go north on Vedder road towards old downtown Chilliwack, go up an over the train bridge, Vedder Rd. becomes Yale Rd., look for the Mercury outboard dealer on the left and the XO Steakhouse is on the right.

Is a good steak report almost as good as a fish report? rolleyes

BD

P.S. I was in Fred's and he mentioned Canadian Salmon License fee are going to go way up this season? Anybody hurd of this?

Hmmm....poor fishing with the girlfriend along or good fishing with the girlfriend back in Tacoma....never mind

I fished on Saturday and Sunday and found kinda poor conditions but managed to pick up a couple of fish. Saturday was low and clear (don't believe the 'shoulda been here Saturday stories'), I hit one fish in the afternoon after fishing all day. Was a beaut though, 35-36 inches by hand measurement; about a 15 lb nate.

Careful what you pray for--it rained all night and turned the river a chalky green for Sunday. Ordinarily I'd say yahoo, but the vis was actually kind of marginal and the river rising a bit, so again fishing was off. Managed to pick up an average sized nate (8-9 lbs)during late-morning, nothing else for the rest of the day.

Didn't see many fish hooked all weekend.
