I went to the Portland Sportsman show last month and talked to one of the Loomis reps and asked if they had a float rod 10'6'' ;6-12. He told me no but they were working on it and that the first ones like this would be IMX and that they would be coming out in Mar. 03. I was wondering if any one has seen one yet?

Loomis does make a 6-12 10 1/2 ft rod. It is the STR 1263 and comes in the GL3 material.

I fished the prototype, but I think it was rated 6-10 lbs. line. It is a sweet rod! I kept one of the rods I field tested, a 12'3" IMX that is going to be rated 8-15. I used it all winter and loved it.

12'3' thats a big un. Any idea where I could check one out at around Vancouver WA. Same goes for the 10'6". Thanks-

Ya that is long, does it come with anybuilt in counter balancing on the butt?

You guys should check out the 13ft IMX, it is the lightest float rod I have ever held. G-loomis Canada makes them, I don't know why that blank isn't on the G-loomis website. Although you can find them easily in Ontario, and there are a couple of websites that have them.

The rod should be available in March but they have been saying that they would be out since Dec. They also have a 13'4" model coming out.

If I go up to Canada and by some Loomis Rods is the savings worth it?
