Spring Chinook in the upper 30's is rare. Almost all are either the low to mid teens (12-17lbs) or in the mid 20lb range. A 37lber is a six year old fish. Very rare indeed. Congrats on a springer of a lifetime! Eddie - Spring Chinook landed within the restricted zone (marked by buoys) of the Wind River don't have to have an adipose clip. Those are fish headed to the Carson National Fish Hatchery. Natural reproduction of spring Chinook in the Wind River is minimal, unfortunately.

A 37pounder IS a 6 year old fish! not necessarily, good genetics and/or excellent ocean conditions and that may very well be a 4 or 5 yrs. old fish. By the way, NICE FISH
