Hit Southworth today with Rick68 and Directional Finder and had an oaky day. Picked up 4 shakers (two of which were just a tad short of the B-B-Q grill) and Rick picked up a nice 10lb Blackmouth on a D.R. Hootchy. 3 of the 5 fish today were on that same Hootchy and 2 were caught on Herring Hoods. also dropped the crab pot and it was loaded with nice Dungees and one red rock. It was a nice day out there, especially after the wind died down.

What time were you fishing this morning. I fished the area Sat and Sun and saw no fish caught..went out Sat morning to Dolphin Pt. and saw more bait boiling than I have seen in a long time but no fish. Didn't get out this morning til 730....Southworth is a new area to me but out of the 12 boats I was fishing around not one had a fish. I did see a respectable ling come ashore Sat evening.

Way to go guys...!!! I see the hootchy is working out for Rick. Are you fishing down by Amityville or closer to the Pt? Tell Directional Finder hi for me- missing him (his money) at the nightly poker game!

I agree with you g2, we saw bait all over at Dolphin Saturday morning and did not see a thing caught, plenty of boats though. Interesting to see 2-3 boats fishing allen bank as it is closed for salmon, this was Saturday afternoon. Way to go Umrules, sounds like you and rick got that place dialed in, a few more weeks and it should start producing biggins. beer

Dr,
We did do a few trolls up around the Ferry dock but all 5 fish were caught down at the Amityville Hump. We didn't really mark any bait to speak of today, but the north and east side of the hump sure does produce on the incoming tide. We did see one boat (a Trophy I believe) up by the Ferry at about 0600 that had what looked to be about a 14 or 15 lber. And NEN you're right, it sure looked like a lot of boats were trolling area 10.

Looking forward to getting out there agai, maybe Wednesday or Thursday.

Way to go UMRULES, was out there Sat. and no fish in the boat. Started at Dolphin and right when I put down, I had a take down but no fish when I set the hook. Must have been a shaker. Did see bait but was marking few fish. Worked over to Beal and Three Tree very few fish marked there also. Still early, give it a week or two, hopefully. Will be out there Father's Day.

Ah um,
Wouldn't off the ferry at southworth be in area 10? I think the line between 10 and 11 goes from the point to north end of Vashon, I always wondered about that spot anybody else know, or see enforcement giving out tickets?
DR or UM, how far down is this amityville hump you all are talking about. Don't worry DR, I will leave you plenty of fish.

I started at Southworth around 11am and didn't get any bites. Moved over to Dolphin pt (Sunday afternoon) around 2pm and picked up a 12 lber....looked more like a king than a BM.

Jeff'e'd, did your king have eggs or sperm sacks in it?

My 7# king I caught on Thursday did not have either egg or sperm sacks and the andipose fin was clipped.

As I was filleting I happened to penetrate the belly cavity and saw eggs. This one had the adiposed fin intact. Why are you asking???

The reason I am asking is, if your king had eggs or sperm it may not have been a blackmouth but migrating king.

Thanks for the reports on Southworth. I fished it a couple hours opening day but have not yet had a chance to get back out, but it is close to my moorage and I am glad to hear it is producing some and expected to get better.

NEN,
If you were to troll North of the ferry dock towards Blake Island, it is my understanding that you would be in Area 10. When I say we made a few trolls at the ferry, we troll out to the east between the ferry and Vashon but below a straight line between the Ferry and the tip of Vashon. That is a grat area to troll when the Kings are running through so it is nice when both areas are open and you don't have to try to skirt tight to the boundry line.

Hope to be out there again Wenesday!
