Never done it at Hoodsport....but elsewhere casting pink buzzbombs or trolling a white flasher with a small pink hootchie works. I have caught them trolling fast and slow. If they are there you will catch them.

OK White flasher & pink hoochie. Fast or slow works it sounds like.

How deep?

hoodsport area near the hactery is shallow. watch your prop. try anchoring up and cast to passing fish with a small pink color lure

Most of the fish will be in that 25 -40 foot range. I have realy nailed them with a white hot spot and a all white hoochie , the silvers like this to.but most people will used the pink. I like my hoochie about 24 in. behind the hot spot

I found a nice set up for pinks, I used to fish for stripers in Maryland and I had 2 great big Crocodile spoons, these spoons are about 5 inchs long and a 1/4 inch thick (very Heavy)
I took the hooks off them and added about 18 inches of 25 pound line and tied a pink/white Dick Night spoon on the end. the weight of the spoon makes it stay down about 8 feet with 50 feet of line and 2 kts of speed.
I go out and fish for kings, and place the 2 humpy rigs out the back for the kids...its a win/win most of the time....DJ

PS> a 2 oz bananna weight and the pink dick night works great when the fish are thick....
