Just curious where the closest take out would be below the mouth of the toutle for a driftboat .

Udubfishgal,
You didnt say where your launching from, but about a river mile or so below theres a take out good water too!!! You might give Riverliver a shout because he should be fishing that stretch of water pretty heavy about know. If you see a couple of bankies where you think they shouldnt its probably me!!! Say Hi.

Lots of people launch at camelot. It is a mile or so south of the four corners texaco on the left. Go down the road and you follow the road for a few hundred yards and then take a right. Go south down the road until you see where everyone is launching.

This time of year there will be rigs there daylight till dark so you can't miss it.

The launch above the mouth of the toutle is called olequa. It is quite a long drift to the toutle but there is a lot of good pools along the way down. The take out is about 2 miles below the toutle,it's called camelot.I have done this float a few times and personal I don't think it's worth the hassel. This section of the cowlitz is best suited for sleds. You can park by the hiway and walk in to the mouth,it's a huge gravel bar.
