Do you think there is going to be an opening around Christmas in areas 8-1 or 8-2?

There has been enough stink about the closure that the wdfw may throw us lowlife recreational dogs a milk bone beathead Just my opinion. I dont know if it will be around christmas or not but you never know...

Last year dad and I went crabbing on thanksgiving day while the turkey was in the oven... Too bad we had to throw away so much cooked turkey wink ... it would've made great crab bait frown

WDFW originally said that they would reserve a % of the recreational allocation for the holiday season. However, I see two issue's: 1) WDFW has claimed we overfished our allocation this summer so that would be an excuse for them to now reneg on opening and 2) Even if they do open it I wouldn't count on stellar crabbing. I have seen hundreds of tribal/commercial pots all over 8-1 and 8-2 for since the summer so I would doubt there will be much crab left for the recreational fishery.
