There have been several discussions here recently about removing a fish from the water for a photos. I thought I would share a photo I recently shot on the Vedder River. Unfortunately, this is not at all unusual. I apologize for the poor image quality. this is a photo of a slide. The expression of the guy in the upper right corner says it all.

There is a dead fish. In my opinion, a person is much better off just cutting the leader if they are not in a position to release the fish unharmed. This fish obviously would have been better off with a hook in its mouth then having this guy handle it cry . Looks like he is trying to batter it for a fry...

Horrible.

The worst part of the whole thing is that they probably don't even realize what they have done.

This is common on the Fraser River also.
Idiots will drag their fish up on the bar before checking if it has to be released eek
You don't have to take an IQ test to get a fishing license.

I notice (casual light night reading) in the WDFW rules proposals, #27 will make it illegal to remove from the water any salmon or steelhead required to be released.

I know alot of the guides are very careful on getting pictures of released fish, but no more pictures of holding Wild Steelhead. frown
