BTF That's pretty darn nice of you to do what you're doing.

It is not just nice, it is the honest and right thing to do! I have returned wallets with thousands in cash, wedding rings, girl scout money, etc. For some, I never even got a thanks, but I know it was what must be done. Thankfully, someone turned in my wallet I left in the bathroom on my way to Vegas. Can you imagine, not a cent in Vegas!!!! Hope the rightful owner gets his rod back. You are setting a good example!

Thanks for the heads up Jonny! I sent Born to Fish an email.

I was in a hurry when I made the post and should've provided a little more information to hopefully narrow it down. I found it on the access road to the old northwest rock pit off devonshire. It was laying next to the road like it had fallen off a pickup or car after someone had forgotten to put it away. From the evidence that I saw, someone was probably a little excited about catching a fish and forgot about their rod I figured I'd stop by before work tommorrow and put up a sign or two and maybe talk to some fisherman and see if I can't find the owner. Thanks for the nice words guys. My parents were always big on honesty and it must've left an impression, because the thought of keeping it never even crossed my mind. Hopefully I can find the owner and return it before too long. Sorry JTD, The rod I found doesn't match the description of yours. Hopefully someone will find it and get the word out so you might get it back. Good luck.

As luck would have it, I was able to return the rod and reel to its rightful owner today. The owner saw the sign I left on the tree and gave me a call. Turns out I was driving back to the office and was only a couple of minutes from his house. The best part was this was someone that's been a family friend for at least 25-30 years. He said he forgot his rod next to his truck after he put his fish in the truck and put away most of his fishing gear. He's been a hardcore fisherman for as long as I can remember, so I had to razz him about "buck fever"
