After all the great advise I got from so many of you PP members, I thought I would show you what I finally settled on.

It is Dodge 3500 with the new H.O. Cummins diesel. This one has all the bells and whistles, more than I wanted even, but it was on the lot and the price was right.

I do think the absolute best price you can find is at Dave Smith. I took the Dave Smith quote to the Bellevue Dodge dealer and they immediately came down to waaaay less than they had been offering.

Anyway, here's my new baby.

The Rhino lining and the camper are coming, dunno bout the winch. I thought I would try not to drive it into anything the 4 wheel drive and 600 lbs of torque wont get me out of.

Very nice truck.Aunty M is right.Needs a warn Winch. You get that thing stuck and the tow bill will be about the same price as a winch.I dont know many people with 4x4 that cant resist giving it a good try out.It is hard to get something that pretty, muddy the first time though.

Congatulations on 1 fine looking new truck!!!

FishDoctro;

I got it at Bellevue Dodge. I paid $35,600, which was about $1,000 under invoice. It has all the bells and whistles, including leather seats, towing package, automatic, power everything. I could have gotten a similar package from Dave Smith for about $500 less. I just didn't want to make the trip for that price diffrence.

Nice truck Dave, I came up next to one of those new dodges at a light the other day, and boy was it quiet. I am sure you are going to enjoy it, and don't worry about the winch, if you happen to get stuck.....just call and I'll come pull you out with my Ford...JK...LOL.

That sure is a nice big truck Dave.

You sure know how to make Georgie some money with the great mileage (for the fuel companies) that you'll be getting.

How many miles per year are you planning to be driving it?

It's not all that important that you follow an estimated plan cause for sure you'll be deserving of your own seat at the next Kyoto Protocol Convention. laugh

Beautiful truck Dave!

Begs the question: Which came first, the truck or the boat to pull behind it?

600 lbs. of torque will get you un-stuck from some pretty bad places...the thing to watch with that long wheelbase is narrow dirt roads with no decent turn-around spot...that's a true 40 acre rig!

Well said Dave laugh

Amazing how some people think you have to justify what you do. I wonder if he is as hard on himself as he is on others.Probably just another hipocrite, mad

Dave you owe no one an aoplogy or even an explanation. That is a nice truck with an efficient and quiet, yet powerful engine. Like I told a holier than thou guy at the Costco gas station when he asked how much fuel my Suburban took: I said 45 gallons...AND the boat behind it takes 150 gallons..now if I could tow this boat with that little Honda I would but it won't so I don't.

Congrats.
No more worries about being able to move a 9' slide-in camper! And it seems like it's QUIET enough.., compared to the other one you looked at.
Good luck with the new rig.
