Hey, is it just me or does anyone think that the Idaho F&G may have over estimated their count on the returning fish? I guess we have been spoiled the past couple o years. But I've had to work like a dog for the fish that I'm getting. Wadda ya say B-Run? Also when you get that Sportinggoods store up and running, how about putting in a good vending machine in Orofino and another in Kooskia?
One stop shopping for Jigs, sammies, hotshots and smelly jelly. And maybe a candy bar.

Yea, its been a bit harder this year. Did have some outstanding days in November, and caught a few over 20, but overall its been slow. I think the majority of the fish over Granite were Snake river fish as they had a ton of them show up at Hells Canyon this year. The Salmon was not red hot either in relation to 02 and 03. Stay happy however, we are supposed to have a big run of Salmon this year so thats what we are looking forward to. I think many of the B-run fish got taken in the nets that were in the Columbia targeting fall Chinook. Also saw fewer wild fish in the Clearwater this year.

I think that the wild ones must have been hiding out somewhere, 3 of my last 6 have been wild, thats just last 2 weekends.

Jerry, thats exactly what the wife said last night..

Mike, we will be there this weekend. Planning on float between Peck and Lenore. Green Willies with Dead Head sticker on the back.. You may not know what that sticker looks like but I bet Jerry does.

Just a guess here. We've been staying consistant with the big CW fish (my guess) at the lower granite pool, Dec, Jan, Feb. I've heard that the Bio's have had alot of readings on their radar from tags in the Steptoe area as of Jan. I would tend to think the CW is still to cold, and the fish are circling the pool waiting to do their thing in the spring. Whenever that may be. We just received another fresh blanket of snow today. rolleyes

Deadhead huh? I hope we won't be singing something off of" Wake of the Flood" We are coming over Sun- Tue, might delay it a day if it looks like the weather would be better. A couple o weeks ago the boat ramp at Peck was closed down, a bunch of construction stuff was parked in there. I'm glad we checked, it would have made a pretty long float from pinkhouse to lenore. I think that the water is a little cold. it was headed up until a couple of days ago. Good Luck

I've never done the CW before but have constantly heard good things about the fishing. Hows the CW for sleds this time of year? Depth, does the water read well, etc? Thanks for any help I can get!!!

Its no big deal for sleds you just have to know where your going. Several places are very skinny with lots of rocks. I would have someone show you the routes before I went in blind. There are places that you could put in your boat and run up river quite a ways before you run into anything to worry about. Lenore is a good location for that. You could also talk to someone at one of the major boats ramps and they would probably let you follow them.
