How'd you do today? Saw your boat coming north on I-5 at Maytown. You're right, there's no mistaking it! My wife was wondering what I was talking about, but, she's used to being a fishing widow. She'll be glad when I go next week so I'll shut up already...

Slow.... Guys anchored next to us hit one about 14#.

I only heard of three fish being caught- one 21#

Water temps are still a little cool- 47 degrees.

Another 316 mile round trip next weekend!

Hey DR,
Me and Dangerous will probably be down there next weekend also. We were trolling down there last weekend and i bonked a little 15lber on the first troll of the morning. Heard from our Longview connection that things are picking up! They bonked a few this weekend at our normal trolling area. Let me know where you are heading to and maybe we will bump into each other down there.

DR,
Plan on heading out EARLY Saturday Morning. Things are definately picking up down there, Jacks report last night was 9 fish for 4 boats in the troll. Hopefully the nets will only be in today and not Thursday as well. Reported that one of those 9 fish was pushing 30lbs!

FISH ON!

DR,
It will probably be just a Saturday only trip. DD has to work on Sunday and I am helping Rick68 on Sunday to get ready for his move to his new house. (Rick will be able to see us trolling Southworth this summer from his living room).

We are trolling down river a bit from the places you mentioned. Same place we found last year and did really well. What is really nice is very few boats and no hog lines, strictly trollers as there isn't a whole lot of current. Send me your e-mail and I will let you know how we did and send you directions to the spot if your interested in doing some trolling.

Silver Hilton - were you at the mouth of the Kalama again when you hit those fish? We were down across from Cottonwood Island and only saw two fish caught all morning. Guy right next to me got one of them. Our identical plugs were probably 10' apart but it chose his instead.

Umrules - we're planning on launching from Willow Grove this weekend for some trolling action. Could you email me and give me an idea where that trolling area is? Not sure if we're going on Saturday or Sunday yet.

Thanks.

Harley, I've been fishing further downriver, in my usual spot. PM me if you don't know where that is. Come by if you want, though the island should be fine, too. I'll be there sat and sunday again, unless UMrules gives up his trolling location. ;\)

I'm avoiding the Kalama mouth until the upriver numbers increase. I don't think are many fish on that side yet, but that could be because I'm ripping lips on the other side.

DR,
You ever launch out of Willow Grove? DD and I will be there at 5:30 Saturday morning in my boat, if you are fishing there and plan on trolling meet us at the WG Launch and I'll show you where we troll at. Lot's of room to troll and I would expect no more than 10 boats or so, even on a Saturday!

Yer welcome, my pleasure. It do taste fine, indeed!

Too bad you're slaving this weekend, the netting reports indicate that the fishing might be pretty fair, unlike the crap we had last weekend. ;\)

They'll be back in, but I think we'll be fine. There are going to be a lot more fish in the river this week.

Just got back from Cath. Really rough weather day. Had to wait at the dock until the wind settled doen. It blew most everyone else off the water. Went out about 1000 and trolled by the cannery . Got one nate about 12 pounds. We were the only hook up I saw in that area.

Wind kicked back up and made trolling really difficult. Anchored up and didn't get any take downs. Got off the water early. Sea lions got two fish we could see. Water temp was 45 to 46 deg.

One question, that nate had a really small adipose fin, not partially clipped or anything, just really small. Was it really a hatchery fish?
