So is the Sauk river drift pretty much a waste of time for now? Has anyone been fishing the Sauk lately?

The upper drift is pretty much a sand box with flowing water ... those fishies gots to be somewhere though. I have problems with the Skagit below the Sauk during Steelhead season .. it is too darn big.

Hey Paul, Are there any danger spots from the Darrington mill down to the Hippie bar. I remember last April, there was a nasty log jam in the middle of the river upstream from the mouth of the Suiattle. That you had to walk the boat around it for safe navigation.

Summer,

I heard that the the river braids into 5 channels there now. I'll let you know which way to go since that's where we'll be tomorrow.

Are you floating with Beezer next week? If so, maybe we'll all do a group float like last year.

p.s. It just dawned on me who you are.

Awesome! 4 Salt.
I didn't make any plans with Beezer for next weekend. Is Beezer planning on floating the Sauk next weekend? Yeah, it would be cool to do another group float trip! And find a lots of chrome nates! \:D

That's very sad.
Hopefully, mother nature will bring the Sauk back to lovely native river once again soon.

We had to see it for ourselves. It is a sandbox, the upper drift is all sand. Only a few spots in the middle section have structure. Its a sad sight.

The Sauk and the Skagit are the only open steelhead water in the area. Fish the Sauk and play in the sand, or play bumper boats on the Skagit.
