The old topic about this seems to have lost it's steam and people are not looking at it. I believe that this could happen. Somebody on the WFF forum posted about it from this site and there are a lot of people that say they would support it and that it is a good idea and are all fired up about it. So, are we willing to finally step up and make our selves heard as a group, or are we going to sit back and complain as we always do? It's our choice, let's make this happen. Is there a person or a few people that would take charge and try to organize a protest?

I would but being 16 I don't quite have the resources or the time with school projects to help. But I will be there if we can get it underway.

FJ .. With the commerical season "over" (bycatch of kelts will continue in springer fisheries) and not much being sent to market, it's going to be hard to do anything this season.

Perhaps next season with some planning and correct timing, we'll see a push to make this happen.

If you disagree with the way the netting currently goes on, there's lots of ways to soften the market for them. One of course is not to buy these products in places like Pike Place or the Seattle area restaurants that sell them ... and educate the non-fishing folks that one might know about this matter.

You also shouldn't buy your eggs off the tribal fisheries either. It's funny hearing a number of guides in my area complain about the webs, yet they'll go right down and purchase huge quanities of eggs for their own bait usage. In my eyes, they have no right to complain when they support the fishery
