Enjoy your trip!! I have fished the Stamp a couple of times and agree with RLN. I caught (C&R) my largest salmon to date on a fly in the Stamp. ~40 lbs. Really gave me a grand fight.
I have done better on the cutts that are there. Largest one so far was about 17-18 inches. Another great fighter. Lots of trout.
Give the Salmon Arm of Sprot Lake a go. Head to the far end and you should be able to see large fish in the clear water just off the bottom.
Don't forget to take a look at the fire fight planes (Martins) that are stationed at Sproat Lake. They are huge! If you are lucky you might see one take off from the lake and scoop up some water.
If you have the time, head up toward Campbell River (not all that far) and stop at the Oyster River (ten Km south) for some Pink Salmon fishing. They are there every year. This is a world class fishery. First week in August is usually the best. This is true - I catch between 15-20 Pinks before 0800 and then 10-15 in the evening. Double headers are not uncommon. Out of the 10+ trips to the Oyster in August, I have only had one poor year. Not bad numbers from my point of view.
