I spotted this earlier today. Sure makes a guy wish he was out there fishing and not working. Beautiful fish.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

58 lbs is the biggest in 15 years? Well, maybe the biggest weighed there...............but Steve Ng got himself a 60 lb'er there last summer.

\:\) Got there Sat. pm and saw enough slabs in the 30 - 40lb range coming to the docks that I released one that would have gone over 30#s looking for that bigger fish on Sunday. Finally settled on a 20#r at the end of the day. My hosts ended up with a 33 & a 22. Saw enough nonstop action on smaller kings and hatchery silvers to 12lbs to make it a memorable trip

I'd like to get out there this weekend, but Big Blue has got to settle down a bit. 10ft swells...geesh!

The data from bouy 46041 \:\(
Significant Wave Height (H0): 9.8 ft
Swell Height (SwH): 9.5 ft
Swell Period (SwP): 10.0 sec
Swell Direction (SwD): W
Wind Wave Height (WWH): 3.0 ft

 Guess I'll wait for things to settle down some. It's looking like a Hood Canal weekend for me.

Hmmm... I was just looking at NOAA's site and thought it looked pretty good. Although currently they have a small craft advisory for going over the bar the rest didn't look too bad.

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/wrhq/TotalForecast.csh?TotalForecast+WR+PZ+156

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ROUGH BAR CONDITIONS...
TONIGHT...NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT... WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT... W SWELL 8 FT AT 10 SECONDS. CHANCE OF SHOWERS EARLY.
FRI...W WIND 10 TO 15 KT... WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT... W SWELL 7 FT AT 10 SECONDS.
FRI NIGHT...W WIND 10 KT... WIND WAVES 1 FT... W SWELL 6 FT AT 11 SECONDS.
SAT AND SAT NIGHT...W WIND 10 TO 15 KT... WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT... W SWELL 6 FT.
SUN...NW WIND 10 TO 15 KT... WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT... W SWELL 5 FT
MON...SW WIND 10 TO 15 KT...BECOMING NW... WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT... W SWELL 6 FT.
TUE...W WIND 10 TO 15 KT... WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT... W SWELL 5 FT

If I had a GPS on my boat I just might think about heading over there this weekend. Oh well... I guess I'll just have to wait till I find a new boat. The North River is going to have to go.

It sure wouldn't be good out there today or even into tomorrow. An 8' west swell at 10 seconds would be very uncomfortable to fish. I like catching big kings but that wouldn't be worth it to me.

I'll be out there Sunday..ocean is already settling down and will be downright nice by Sunday. I think I can find that 61# fish to top Steve Ng's...I was at the weigh in last Saturday too and saw a ton of nice kings....

We went out of Ocean Shores on Monday and Tuesday and had a great time. We landed some hogs that include a 52# and a 35# . Also landed some nice hatchery coho in the mid-teens, hope to get some pictures posted soon!!! The bar had been resticted to 36', so the fishing may have to resume on sunday!!
