I suppose that many believe that this subject has been covered here rather thoroughly on this board, to which it has before the war. Now that the election in November is right around the corner and Bush has had to backtrack away from his statements regarding why we went to war with Iraq: 1) "Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised." GWB 2) "Iraq has ties and supports terrorism" 3) "Sudham's criminal treatment of his people." I think its critical to assess whether this president has misled the American people and has a clear strategy for why we are over there and if it justifies spending $1B a month. I think this is especially relevent to those of us in the middle who gave the President the benefit of doubt considering our country had just been attacked. Regarding the Meet The Press program with George himself, I had to applaud his courage for going on the program, but was disappointed in the lack of depth to his responses and did not feel that he resoundigly put down any of the difficult questions that were asked of him. people want to blame bush for the economy, and what not, but the truth is, saddam has used chemical weapons and nerve gas before and if he used them before , that means he still had some, but now where are they, did he get rid of them? id say not, he took the united nations inspectors on a wild goose chase for many years and im glad he is no longer in power, for what he did to the kurds, and his own countrymen, may justice be brought on his very head.. we took hitler out of power for this kinda thing, and we did it to saddam, and we will continue to do it in the future if the time arrives and i for one am glad to be in a country that is willing to stand up to people like that..if it wasnt for the u.s. we'd all be speaking german today.. was that a reality? id say so.. germany was very powerful, had many of the top scientists, they could of made the first atom bomb before us, they had plutonium and then what, world domination? the weapons of mass destruction are out there, as one person over in iraq said, they went into samaria, jordon, and iran.. or is it jus hear say?

I agree Berkley,
Everyone wants to jump on the anti-war bandwagon because the democrats are whinning about not finding any wmd...
We forget the torture chambers we found where humans were plugged into electrical wires and fried to death...even Sadam's own National Athletes were totured if they failed to perform perfectly...even the most flamming liberal knows this. We forget the discoveries of mass graves of whole tribes of sheites, kurds and other non-bath party members. We also forget the number of Al kieda we destroyed and captured in Afghanistan as well as how we freed Afghanee women from being shot in town soccer fields and beaten with sticks from the cowardly taliban. Where are we as a country when we forget who attacked us on 911 ? We are in danger of forgetting...that's scary. How many more 911s have we prevented by taking the war to their backyard instead of waiting for them to bring it to us again? Because of GW we have a rogue Islamic country who just recently agreed to turn in all their wmd...anyone remember Libya???? Oh, but let's get concerned because some gay couple can't legally play house on our tax dollars...or because we aren't killing enough 9 month old babies as they come out of the womb Man! We are swiflty going mad!
