I know that either by choice or as required by regs people change the trebles on their K-fish to single Swiash hooks. What size do you use for a K-15?

Thanks for the help,

I typically use a 3/0 or 4/0 siwash up front and a treble on the rear. I also remove the split rings and add a #5 berkley barrel swivel. You have to bend the eye out on the kwikfish to get the swivel on and then bend it back. For the rear you have to clip the loop on the treble and bend it out to attach to the swivel. Others may use a siwash on both which would eliminate having to clip the treble. The trebles that come on the kwikfish are really hard and you can break the side cutters if you are not careful.
Hope this helps.

I like a 4/0 siwash, or I also like that Gamakatsu 4/0 single hook. The single hook has an outside barb and works nicely. You can use one or two hooks and the swivel idea is a good one. Treble on the tail if allowed. I use a 2/0 owner super needle point for the treb.

Another fishermen that has to ask the "swish hook" question............WISH Lure Jensen, would just manufacture "kwik fish" with both type of hooks. Now many of the spinners come that way or buy plugs from Yakima Bait Company.........they have both styles of hooks.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr to Luhr Jensen!!!!!!!!!!!

4/0 on the k-15 size works for me on springers:

3/0 on the k-13 for fall coho:

Here is another good way to fish them if you use a drop weigh to get them down to depth:

hey slab,
in the K13 pic (fall coho) is that siwash hanging freely from the middle eye? it looks like you've attached the bead chain to the middle one and tied the split ring to the rear eye. if so, what did you tie it with? is it designed to break free?

Yes, its just held with 6lb mono to break free and allow the coho to roll. ;\)
