Need size 15 -16 boots. I've got a newbee that is just starting to get hooked on fishing. This is my niece's boyfriend. He is a big guy, 6 foot 10 inches and 260 lbs. He is actually a gentle giant (not so gentle on football field). In the past 1 -2 years, he has been fishing lakes and rivers near Pullman and wants to start fishing for steelhead. He is having a problem finding boots to fit him. He said he wears a size 15 or 16. I found up to size 15 at Cabelas but was hoping to find size 16 for him.
So does anyone have any suggestions? Also, price needs to be reasonsable.
I avoided sharing his name but in the spirt of Apple Cup, he is football player and a COUG and had a lot to do with the COUGs getting the last win over the Huskies.

....as much as I hate to help...Orvis has some size 15 wading boots. Have a friend with a pair and he likes them a lot.

I hope your last line is appropriate for years to come..."...the last win...

Go Huskies!!!!

I wear a 15 shoe, and if you go with a hodgman mid range boot in a 15, they should fit! I can wear a 14 wading boot.. As far as waders go, if you are looking for reasonable price, that will last a little while, I just keep on buying the hodgman neoprenes.. in a 5XL.. I'm 6'3" and they are a little long for me, not bad, but they should work!! Foot size up to a 15! I'd recommend that setup.. At least go try em on! Good luck!

I think I saw a pair of 15 or 16's on ebay, ending in the next couple of days.

I bought Dan Bailey breathable waders and boots at Sportco not long ago.

I usually wear size 15 shoes, but I went with the size 14 wading boots...Size 15 were just way too big... so I'm thinking they would work for your Coug buddy...(Damn I don't know why I'm helping you!!) \:D

In the waders they have regular length and extra long length... I got the 2XL long's... I'm 6'6" and weigh 270, and they're pretty baggy on me.

The boots were like $80 and the waders were $180 I think...

I got my hip waders from Cabelas...

Hope this helps.

Go Huskies.

Dang Weedhopper,
Between the two of us, we would be a 1/4 ton of fishermen. I'm nearly 6'5" and 260.

Heheh... 530 lbs. of pure QUALITY Puyallup resident BEEF!

Maybe we should plan a trip to go up and float the Green or something.... we can get _Barbless_ to row us around... he needs the practice! Hahah...

You think you could row two big fat dudes around Ryan?

LOL.....
Right after the weekend opener, we floated the Hump in my buddies drift boat. He commented a few times that his boat felt "sluggish", and would look straight at me.

It did'nt help that both of us brought enough food, gear, poles, tackle & extra clothes to last a week.

He certainly would'nt have any trouble keeping the bow pointed downstream.

I am more than willing to try, but keep in mind that I weighed in at 200 last week (I am not fat, I am festively plump), so you might have to buy a bigger boat... Check yer' load capacity, see if it is do-able \:D

Thanks for info everyone. Sounds like boots run big and a size 15 may work for him. I'll let him know.

Lupo, not sure what "vans" shoes are. He isn't running around barefoot but if they are fishing boots he may want them. Thx

Ok, its a go... but the only way we can do it is to go bare bones... and when I say bare bones, I mean BARE BONES... that means rods and tackle only... in order to stay under the coast guard mandated weight limit, we can have no lunches, no beer, no CLOTHES, no nuthin!.... three nekkid, "festively plump" crackers floating down the Green....

Still game???

Okay Boys ... It sounds like an overweight surcharge is going into effect for this upcoming trip for a couple of you ... Calawah plan may be changing as well. I'm getting old ...

Weedhopper,
They would probably lock us up for the "36 hours for observation" on that "special floor" at Tacoma General. :p

Bob,
Dont worry, If we insist on "rowing back up" to re-run a hole. We'll get out and pull it upstream for ya..... \:D \:D

Bob... for the Calawah, I will start weedhopper on a steady diet of crack and meth, and I am just big boned, nothing to do about my weight.

Weedhopper, I am out for floating the Green with you guys... just something wrong about being "nekkid" on a drift boat with a couple of guys. Throw the clothes back on and I am back in, or you better include a couple bottles of whiskey for that mission \:D

SteelyDon-
I am 6'7" (and a little more than 260) so I can empathize. Try these guys...if they don't have something, they can find it fast. I have gotten most of my stuff from them for this reason. Good luck.
