I have a friend that has a Colt .45 ACP double eagle. Does anyone have any knowledge of this pistol. The reason I'm asking is he wants to sell it to me. And just like old coins I think it has a miss print. I have googled it ,had numerous people I know look into it, and still nothing. The Double Eagle on the side of the slide actually reads Double Eagl. Yep it's missing the E on the end. This is a series 90 stainless steel. If anyone has any info on this please share.

A Google Image search clearly shows the "E" on the slide. It's also a series 90. I'm guessing the slides are stamped and for some reason yours is missing the "E". I've heard mis-prints on coins hold a higher collector value. Maybe the same is true for guns?
