yes. over a decoy is generally better because they are focused on the other bird. Many guys also use a pop-up blind to conceal themselves. Drawing a bow and not getting caught by a tom is very tough.

Gonna try it this year for the first time. with a decoy and a blind, probably. i know people turn down the pull weight of their bows to decrease necessary movement, so that might help. northeast washington is kind of the hotspot in wa for turkeys lately. they are everywhere up there...colville natinal forest is a pretty popular destination.

This is a popular broad head for turkey.
Gobbler Guillotine

The big thing is anchoring the bird. I have talked to a lot of guys who have lost birds after they hit them with arrows. I thought that was bad, but recently I have seen just as many guys lose the bird after shooting it with pellets. I guess it just comes down to making a safe, predictable shot. Using a mouth/reed call would be key in drawing and calling. Or team hunting would work. I have often pulled back behind the shooter to get the bird in closer.
