So this is my first year hunting AHE and other than the special permits I put in for I'm planning on hunting 3911 fairview for elk. I was just wondering what it is like? Many elk? Do many landowners let you come on their property? And also have any of you gone to the meeting about this area that was announced on the AHE blog?

What were the dates of those meetings? That would be where I would start. Figure out the boundaries. They expanded the area last year into some nice country. Some of the land owners in the valley are receptive but you need to do some homework. It's definetly worth the effort. I have taken several cows out of there. After you get some info I can get a little more specific. There are a few others here who have some experience there also. Maybe they'll chime in.
