There was a nice push of fish in the North Sound this morning. We got 4 fish between the two of us, off the water by 8.

Probably too late, but it was slow today for most of us. Did see a 17 lb fish at the Coho cleaning station, though. Weather got snotty about 11 a.m. and most boats came off the water. Supposed to have gale force winds tonight and into tomorrow. Might be better to save the gas and stay home.

Pulled the plug and came home last night...it was going to get ugly out there! As reported above, the forecast was calling for 30-40kt winds and 4-6ft wind waves. It was already blowing 15-20 and some nice 3-4ft waves were all ready kicking up! When we were pulling out, Van Ripers was pulling all their kicker boats out and told one guy who wanted to launch, he should check at Olson's, since they are more protected. The guy asked what he should do, they lady behind the counter said "keep it on the trailer and go home...", I laughed outloud. As Seastrike mentioned, it was a ghost town compared to last weekend. 1/3 the people and boats. We did well Thur, Fri and Sat, getting limits everyday. All fish were cookie cutters, around 7-8lbs, with the exception of our first fish on Thur, around 11-12. We had decent action all day, didn't think it was slow and was definetly better than last week. We heard some reports of 10-12's caught and saw some decent fish being cleaned and butchered (I mean it...total hamburger!). After cutting open the stomachs of fish last weekend and saw that they were stuffed with herring and some huge anchoivies or sardines, we ditched the 'riggers and went with 8oz and cut plug all weekend, these fish were still feeding. By the mass exitist that was going on, I can't imagine there are many people still there today. I would think there would be another huge surge of fish into the Sound very soon.
