So sad. Why does he even argue with you? And who are these 'people'?
Thats about as small as the coho get in Nov on the Skok. Right now its a 30:1 ratio of chum to coho. In a couple of weeks it'll be better, unless its blown out.

that's a coho, and if you want to get nitpicky, if he thinks it was a king, why the hell did he keep it? that river closed to king retention on sept. 30th.

IF it's a king and this photo is recent, then that fellow is breaking at least a couple of laws:
a. retention of a king on a closed-king season on the skok (looks like a dead fish to me)
or
b. completely removing a fish out of the water that he intends to release (or should release since it is unlawful to retain a king)
Better tell him to change his mind and call it a coho, before WDFW sees this posting. LOL

Clearly a 'ho...and a nice one, at that.
Color me surprised that the jackasses at the Skok couldn't tell the difference, though...
"Usually the Coho are snagged in the tail, but that one was snagged in the ass, so it must be a Chinook!"
Fish on...

Mis-clipped Winter Steelhead. Probably a Cook Creek stray. Just ask the brewer. He's my new "go to" resident ichthyologist and fish ID'er.
I just *NEW* Doc would call that fish a coho. He calls *everything* a coho.....

That looks to be a small king to me, look at the color on the back and general platinum coloring. Plus you can see the spots pretty well. King for sure.

hahaha....i called him today to say...its a coho...and before i even got i out of my mouth he said "i know its a coho"...i think he was just confused by the spots...but i couldnt really see any even enlarging the photo...
Jer...were there a lot of spots?... he did say that he looked at the photo later and didnt realize the mouth had white...i dont think he has ever caught a king that was not bright, or a blackmouth...im pretty sure he has never caught one that has spent any time in a river...
he did confess...but i thought he knew better....some guys just cant be told different by a girl...c
