so, my boss told me i could spend about $300 in a car navigation system. of course, i plan on using it for hunting and in the boat. i was looking at the magellan crossover--it's pretty much the only one i found which would do both the city street thing and the off-road thing (with topo maps) it also appears to be able to use the blue-nav maps, which are based on the navionics maping software. anybody have this one? any opinions on other ones? the garmin nuvi looks pretty cool, but i'm not sure if i can download maps.

If your budget is only $300, that limits you to only a couple of models.

...As in a little hand held Garmin or something that has a glue-on dashmount.

I like my Garmin Map 76s. Doesn't talk to me, but it is easy to move from truck to boat to pocket when hunting. Just get a few Ram Mounts and hardwire power into the boat and truck, and call it good. Used it in SanDiego last year, and I plan on using it again in Phoenix and Las Vegas this month.

In-car, I think the Garmin Nuvi is the best choice by a long shot.

What is the best "outdoors/fishing" GPS under 300.00? Looking for one that is the best dollar for dollar and with a color screen.

thanks
