A shrimping day on the canal usually means I can get in a little fishing as well on the way back to the launch, and such was the case this past wednesday. We had a great time shrimping and managed limits of shrimp for 6 before we tied the pots down and went out looking for cutts.
Well the cutts werent thick, but we did find a ton of flounder, one bullhead and some tiny salmon. Luckily I had my good friend Jonh along and he was able to clear the way for me to catch some nice cutties by keeping those pesky little guys out of my way.
Good populations of sandlance fry were seen but the water clarity was poor. Not many cutts but I found a couple. Sadly, as usual, John couldnt buy a nice cutt, although he did miss the biggest fish of the day that ate his fly but didnt hook up.
John doing what he does best...

And myself...
