After a slow day yesterday we had an hour this morning of all out nuts fishing. Between three boats and 8 guys we we hit 6 keeper kings, 1 native and 4 silvers in a one hour stretch. The hatchery kings were from 12-22lbs with the high twenties native fish released. We saw about 20 other fish boated in that time span, then it just went dead, maybe a few other fish caught here and there. My brother has pics, I'll try to get him to post them. All fish on hootchies at 60ft on the riggers. Off to Spokane for a week, hopfully that quota will last until we get back.

We hit some good fishing today as well. We started out with a few hatchery silvers of decent size and then went 2 for 3 on almost identical 20 to 22 pound kings. Then as soon as it started... It died off. Things are looking up though. -TBJ

Cfish, we had the same thing happen this morning (I bet we were in the same spot smile . It was good for a short bit, but then just died off. Overall the last 3 days were slow, but we managed to scratch out a few each day. Decent numbers of silvers around.
All of our fish were deep... Right on the bottom with the bait we were marking....
I don't think this is the push, but I have a hunch it's going to come unglued in the next week or so.

Where did these silvers came from? Went out Thursday PM, Friday PM, Saturday AM, and Saturday PM and Thursday PM was the only day I didn't get a silver....Probably caught over a dozen, kept the three biggest. Most fish were caught on Coho Killers, only king we kept was a 7lber on Thursday night....

Been a struggle for me. No fish in about 10 hours of trying. Doesn't help I had fatal downrigger problems though.

Reports for me have been pretty consistant since the opener. Those in the right place at the right time and who know what they're doing have been scratching out a few fish. The rest of us have been struggling!

Any word on the count to date. I can't imagine that we've even got 1000 of the quota yet??? Any guesses how many days we might have left??? I'd sure hate to see this thing close the day after the first big push of fish but.............

Bonkit, Uncle J caught a 22 to take it, I got two 16's. I will be in Spokane until Sunday, we'll have to hit it next week.

07, silvers are spread out from Jeff Head to Double Bluff, we saw schools of them attacking bait on top for about two hours on and off yesterday. I think if we were targeting them we would have gotten a few more.

BroodBuster you can go to the WDFG web site and I think you can find the totals, I do know after yesterday we are pushing 1000, most fish caught in Northern 9.

Like Neal said, I think the big push will be a little later this year, hopefully next week when we get back, I missed it last year while out of town, although we did fine in Northern 11.

Ebay Friday morning- 1 shaker, and had a nice one on for a while. Rippen off line and thought I turned him, but that's when he came off. Barbless hooks suck.

Ebay Saturday evening. - 1 silver.

Hit MA 9 today with the infamous Mr Gilly aka Matt aka the dude who use to pound on Neal when they were kids...I was joined by a buddy Matt and TBJ from the board and yes it was a threesome but not like the ones I have in my dreams.

FIshing was lights out till about 9am then died off but we ended the day with 5 nice kings landed(2wild) and around 10 good silvers(50/50 w vs h). We were wishing we woulda bonked a few more silvers early on but we had a kings only mentality when we hooked up 5 minutes into the trip and thought we might be able to limit on kings...come August those local HO's will be nice n fat, just how Seastrike likes his women:) Anyway ill post up some pics later and a high recommendation for Matt /Tyee Charters if you want to get out in 9/10 and learn the fishery from a pro...cheers!

Good to hear Keith. Fishing with Matt, my Old Man and 2 blind dudes on Thursday.

Honestly, we can just let the blind guys fight the downrigger and they probably would be happy! Like they'd ever know.....

I went out Saturday evening. All I did was release shakers for 3 hours and loose a downrigger ball over the side. mad

Ouch, there goes $45.99. I know, as I lost one too on Saturday morning, bought a new one Saturday night at Sportsmans, and fished Sunday. Nothing, zero, zilch! I couldn't even buy a fish right now. My fish karma must be real bad.

I got a loop on the spool on my electric and didn't know it. It went down about 10 feet and stopped. I hit the jog button to bring it back up, and SNAP!

Nuther learning curve.

Don't feel to bad, I did all of that Saturday afternoon minus the shakers. Nice new boat btw, you were putting in as I was taking out, looks like a nice setup.

7 flounders at JH late last week all on artificials and only one was hooked anywhere near the bottom...would have settled for those fat chicks summer run was talking about. Check that, Dave was on the water too, he would have beat me to them.

Cant wait for the fish to push south.
