Ok, so I am planning on falling some biggass fir trees. (but they scare the hell out of me)

looking for a tree faller/logger type. In the poulsbo area.

Trees are Doug Fir, probally 18-36 inch diamater. Maybe as tall as 130 feet.(could be bigger) I guarntee they are over a hundred. Because I fell a "little one" that was 90 feet.

Most are leaning, the "right" way.

I don't need a certified arborist, unless hes a cheap one. Its all ground work, couldn't hit any homes.

My goal is more sun for the garden. These big trees are on the southside and some are on the west side which effictivly creates a curtin of shade for the garden.

See if you can locate Dan Starks in Port Angeles. I've known him for 35 plus years. If he'll do it, it'll be done right, but I don't know if he will be interested. Good Luck

I'd do it for the firewood, but the logistics probably won't work.
Good luck.

I don't know the first thing about a chainsaw other than how to sharpen them and then endanger all around me with them.
If you don't have to use them for a living then they are a fun toy.
I bet if you do have to use them for a living they'd be fun too.

I used to think I was pretty handy with my chainsaw. That was until I decided to remove a tree in my backyard and aimed it northwest and it fell directly south on my garden shed. Got a new garden shed out of the deal however. Homeowner's insurance can be very forgiving.

Try Bruce Webster

Webster did mine for half the cost that Poke & Tellaboutit quoted me.

If you still need someone let me know. I know a guy in passing that does that kind of work on the side. He is out of Puyallup but works off the shipyard and owns rental homes in your area. I would guess he is fairly cheap.

sorry, but this just reminded me of one of my favorite Jack Handy sayings - "would we be so cavalier about cutting down trees if they screamed? Maybe not, if they screamed all the time, for no reason."

How come no one suggested Addicted? I bet it would turn into a really great story and post! grin

Thanks for all the responses.
