Anyone been fishing for them on the Cow lately?

Thinking of making a trip from Vancouver.

Thanks for any info.

Theyve been getting a few at the Barrier dam seperator still.
1 of our drivers saw a kid with a limit of them at Blue Creek last week.

Gizmo,

They are still around, but the catching has fallen way off since the river came up. I suspect that the good cutthroat fishing is over for this season.

Gizmo-
Here on north Puget Sound rivers the sea-run cutthroat typically is a low water game. The best fishing is while the rivers are at their lowest flows. Seems like that once the fall rains begin and the flows come up the cutthroat become much more difficult to catch.

While part of that difficulty is due to some of the cutts moving into the larger tributaries preparing for their spawning in a couple months (spawnining from late December through most of May) there are some still in the main rivers. Whenever the winter flows fall to something comparable to what was seen in the fall cutthroat can be caught - it just not happen very often.

Bottomline I suspect that other than the odd fish or two here and there the good cutthroat fishiing of the year has ended.

I had heard that they where still catching a few but wanted to check before heading that way.

guess I will have to wait until next year and give it a try then.

Thanks again...Time to go find some steelhead.
