This is a "heads up" on a blockage problem down river from the Black Creek boat launch.

More of the trees along the west bank have gone into the river.....there were 3 in last year but drift and sleds were able to work thier way past. At this time, its a "no go" on the sleds and a "pull/push/shove" for the driftboats. As the water get lower it will only get worse.

This picture is from 12/10/08.....its about 500 yards down from the bridge!!!!!

Bill thanks for the heads up that would have been a good row for you if you were in a driftboat. Thank god for sleds.

I see this as a good opportunity for -

a) the SRC Fleet to test Molotov Potato Canons laugh
b) aquatic chainsaw artists confused
c) collection of white garbage in the river mad
d) or, perhaps, Mother Nature to diversify some habitat smile

Be careful out there.

That's the great thing about this drainage, self regulating with river flows.

Well, it ate a big chunk this season....won't be long and the "slide hole" will be no more!!!!! Could end up being a "straight shot" all the way to the Wilkey hole.............

Hey DrifterWA,
What's that part of the river looking like these days?

You live in Montesano? You can almost see that part of the river from the road.

I was hoping the snow melt would be faster, raise the river and maybe "blow out" part of the blockage. Don't think the way it looks that its going to happen with this slow melting.

Doesn't look like there will be any increase in the flow from the dam, because the water level behind the dam is down. Maybe a temperture warming and rain in the head waters but sure don't want to see any major flooding because of it.

Could get to be a major blockage if more "stuff" comes down and stacks, with what is already there.

Hate to lose all that fishing area, for jet boaters, below the slide hole...force me to start fishing the "White Bridge", area again....

It would be One long boondoooggin run from the slide hole to the head of wilkey.Hopefully it will wash out soon so the sleds can play down in that area.Good luck,
