ive been thinking about plunking the lower green river. mainly on the duwamish...

anyone have any luck down that low this year? i know the guys around the soccer fields in auburn get fish on a regular basis. but id like to find a place a little closer to home in this weather.

thanks.

also what is the best setup? ive never plunked before though i have all the gear needed.

thanks again.

Right now is actually a great time assuming the fish are moving in. I assume you've got a spot already scoped out and if that's the case, pick a current seam, chuck a 3-4 oz pyramid on a dropper, some 12 pound ultragreen leader, a pink/mylar winged spin-n-glo and a sandshrimp. Boom, you're set!

Reverse flow, or slack water, due to tides can be an issue in the lower Duwamish. However, the flow in the Green may be high enough to override for now so maybe it won't be a problem. Keep an eye on the tide table and check it out. Good luck.

On the Skagit...we use a second wing bobber and hook. Leave the top bobber bare and the bottom with bait...(shrim or eggs) you'd be surprised but 1/2 the fish are caught on the bare bobber..done this "at least" on 20 occasions myself and several other witnessed. On the Skagit...the nates really like the 1/2 and 1/2 chartreuse orange/red and yellow. But the Skagit is a plunkers river tho...
