I was thinking about doing this rather then renewing my passport. Since most of my out of country destinations are to either Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean, this looks like it should work.
Just curious, anyone do this yet? Pros or cons?

Yep..got mine. It's easy, but it's only good for "vehicle travel" to Mexico and Canada I believe. If you're flying into or out of the country you had better have your passport IMO.

That point slipped right by me. I guess I'll be renewing the good old passport.
I still may do it for my trout fishing road trip to Canada.

They correct about flying. You'll need your passport.
