It finally dawned on me to try fishing a little deeper -- on those rocky reefs just off the backwaters I usually fish in the spring -- and a few smallies were there to whack Woolly Buggers and Weedless Woollies.
It looks like the smallmouth will finally get cranking -- if the weather remains on the warmish side.
