fished for a few hours last night at the start of the weak evening tide. Not generally a recipe for success but we headed out and enjoyed the sun anyways. Very few fish compared to the past few outings but some of the spots were washed out due to the tide and north wind. I think between Steve and I we brought 4 or 5 to hand. Mostly on clousers or a small psychadelic herring pattern from Puget Sound Fly Co.
We also saw a few residents in schools of 10 or so that followed flies up to the boat but they were unusually lacking the aggressive and hungry nature that seem so prevalent with resis. Some were very nice sized as well. Its too bad we couldnt seem to put a fly in their mouth.
I wont get out this weekend but i hope to fish the big tides next week. It should be good.
Catch and Release Cutthroats!
