It looks like Ocean Charters has a smaller 6 person boat doing salmon fishing this season. Does anyone have any reviews of the boat and the skipper?

not familiar with Ocean charters, but I went on a trip on the Scooter from deep sea charters a couple of years ago and had a good time. Looks like the skipper is new to the boat so I am not sure what kind of trip he runs, but sometimes the new guys work pretty hard to try and build a following.
I just noticed the Fortuna from deep sea charters, also a six pack, is run by Don Samuelson. He was the skipper of the Scooter on the trip I was on. Good guy and a good trip. Looks like a pretty nice boat for a six pack.

The Scooter is run by Robert Mirante. Good guy. His dad runs the Pescatore and his brother Brian runs the Sea Angel. Robert and Brian's brother Paul Jr. is a deckhand on the Fury, I believe. All fishermen, all good folks to be on board with.

Don Samuelson on the Fortuna has been running boats in Westport for decades. Very personable guy, another one of the schoolteacher/charterboat captains like Kevin Vaserino on the Gold Rush. Don is a pretty low key guy and that boat of theirs is pretty nice. Got a tour of it the day they brought it up from California.

Tell any of the guys mentioned that Andy the Banker sent you.

Fortuna is a nice clean boat .we fished bottom uglys a couple of weeks back out of it for two days .not very fast but it runs like a dream and has plenty of room for fishn.Seating and head for customers is below deck.We didn't fish with Don as he was on vacation .The guy that brought the boat up from Calif skippered while we were there.give them a call its a Sweet boat.
