gets jailed
The Washington State Patrol reports that a Neah Bay man got mad in a construction zone. And he did what?

Ram a much smaller car. The rammed it a second time later when the driver saw him. He chased the driver. And -- wait for it -- was seen by police standing outside his truck sucking down a beer.

Ever heard the phrase couldn't get arrested? Not this guy.

Our story unfolds Monday afternoon on state Route 112 in Clallam County. Our 31-year-old resident of Neah Bay becomes upset in a construction zone.

So he rams his 1988 Chevrolet truck into a 2000 VW Bug in front of him.

Now the guy takes off, driving erratically, the State Patrol reports. (As if deciding, what the hell, I'll crash into the car in front of me wasn't erratic.)

The driver of the Bug, a 30-year-old Port Angeles man, calls 911. Later, he and his passenger, a 35-year-old Port Angeles woman, came upon the truck and driver on the side of the highway.

The driver asks the truck driver if he know that he hit the Bug. Mr. Charm from Neah Bay threatens to assault both occupants of the Bug, gets in his truck and backs up into the VW.

He went fast enough that the truck was halfway up the hood of the Bug, the State Patrol reports.

The Bug driver still managed to get his car free and drove off.

The truck driver gave chase. But -- talk about karma -- got stuck in slow traffic from the construction. The Bug's driver and passenger got away.

Neah Bay police officers also saw the truck driver stopped on the shoulder of the highway and standing outside his truck. He was drinking a beer. All that road rage makes a guy thirsty.

A trooper arrived and took him into custody for drunken driving. He refused to submit to a breath test.

He was booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of assault and drunken driving and a misdemeanor warrant from a 2004 DUI arrest.
