With early archery over I thought I would see some kill shots..?

So who is gearing up and when are ya heading out?

My co-workers buddy got a bull early on. My buddy saw good numbers of animals, some even pretty close (20 yds) but passed as the shots were not good enough to take.

Shot a cow and lost it...

Had 3 call-ins inside 10 yards but couldn't close the deal... I suck....... Never could get a legit shot.

Muzzleloader tag for me starts on the 3rd of Oct. Its going to be in ground I have not hunted before so that part will be fun to figure out where the animals are. Its a cow permit and there will only be 25 hunters in the unit. The bad part is that its crazy steep terrain and we will think twice about puting one down at the bottom of some of these canyons.

One of my buddies was hunting locally on Saturday and had his two sons in tow. They are 4 and 7 years old. He squeaked a herd to 35 yards, a 4x4 walked right into his setup. His kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then he stood up and shot and double lunged a twig, and missed the bull.

He let out a profanity laced tirade as they ran over the hill, swearing to never bowhunt again. Then when they got home one of his sons called the other son an ass-licking-c#nt-motherfu%ker right in front of my buddies wife.

Wasn't last years day pouch holding a flask, pop, and dog treat? I know I got the flask right.

I hunted around Longview and got into quite a few elk. Had plenty of elk in range, bulls bugling and killing trees, etc. I could only get away for the first weekend and never got a clear shot. Still had a blast though.
