BANK BAILOUTS
I'm sick of hearing that if we don't offer $700K in bonuses, the people we need to run these financial service companies will all resign. If we have to bail out your firm, because you're too big to fail, your entire executive staff, effective the moment we take over your company, gets drafted into the military. You can choose to make your minimum commitment to the military in your current position at said bank, or serving in a forward area in combat (after boot camp), but regardless of your choice, your salary + bonuses will be capped at the salary of an Army Officer (perhaps Pay-Grade O-6) with the amount of seniority you have at your current company.

I'm curious how folks think these would poll?

I'll go you one better.....everybody has to sign up for a stint.....physically and mentally able?...good enuf...time everyone paid a little for the benefits of just sucking oxygen in the good ol' USA. Maybe you'll get lucky and just have to paint rocks, or maybe not, but no more free rides.

Don't worry....I'll feed your dog. wink

I don't know if I want those bailout CEOs in the army. After all, they took down their bank or financial institution. The military really is TOO important to fail. But I'd be fine with having them and their executive staffs picking up litter off the roads and riverbanks for an equivalent term at the appropriate compensation rate for that task, somewhere around minimum I suppose. It would help them learn the value of a dollar, without all the extra zeroes they're accustomed to seeing along side a monetary expression.

Get rid of the Federal Reserve.....

With things the way they are now in regards to the falling dollar I would take back control of our country's money and back it with a tangible asset like gold, silver, and oil. Only question is if we have enough tangible assets to cover the amount of worthless money we have been printing.

Congressional term limits....

I am tired of career politicians.

A return to the gold (or alternative) standard won't do it in the modern global economy. I used to think it would, but I was thinking too provincially. Ultimately currency is worth what the marketplace believes it's worth. Consequently the only way to have a valuable national currency is either that the other indicator nations' currency falls more than ours, or we exercise responsible fiscal management. Experience shows that whenever the US even comes close to that, the US $ increases in value.

If I were king I'd disband the two political parties and draw lots to form three parties.

If I were king...
1. High end casulty for everyone, dedutabilty based off salary. Keeps insurance companies alive, keeps incentive to limit visits entact, prevents bankruptcies and spreads costs among all participants.
2. Term limits.
3. LIquour licenses. Revoked upon DWI or related alcohol related offense.
4. Regulate salaries among any company that has publicly traded stocks wherein the majority of holders have less than .5% interest or one holder has more than 50% interest.
5. No gov't borrowing of SSN. Rather pool is used to fund Home loans.
6. All health care costs and premiums (except for unneeded cosmetic's) tax deductable.
7. All college tuition tax deductiable.
8. No affirmative action. Any remedies based on combination area of residency, income and school district. This means a poor white kid would get help before a rich minority, but would still help anyone that was held down for any reason, be it race, single parents w/low income, inadequate schools, etc..

Thats a start.
